Karen Campbell is a geologist and a librarian. Prior to her current position as Education Director for the National Science Foundation funded National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics (NCED), worked in mineral exploration and as a Earth Science librarian. At NCED, which is headquartered at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota, she is responsible for programs and partnerships that bring NCED’s research on the processes that shape Earth’s surface–erosion, transport, and deposition–to public audiences, teachers and undergraduate students. She works closely with the Science Museum of Minnesota and as an adjunct instructor at several Twin Cities area colleges and universities. Karen also served on the organizing committee for the NSF-sponsored Earth Science Literacy Principles.
